Meet Erica Williams
Founder of AirportOpsMedia | Airport Operations Supervisor | Pilot

My Story

I’ve spent over 12 years working in airport operations, and I’ve seen firsthand how the smallest mistake can turn into a major incident. Airport Operations Officers carry enormous responsibility — from ensuring safety on the airfield to managing emergencies inside the terminal. It’s a job where one oversight can mean the difference between normal operations and life-or-death consequences.

I’ve built my career on a love for aviation. I earned my bachelor’s degree in Aeronautical Science from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University, became a private pilot, and achieved my FAA drone pilot certification. I’m currently an Airport Operations Supervisor and hold both AAAE ACE OPS and ACE Security certifications.

Through all those years on the ramp, in operations offices, and communicating with control towers, one problem kept coming up: training.
At every airport I worked, I saw gaps in how new staff were trained. Manuals were outdated. Videos were generic. And the real-world realities of airport life — the things that truly keep people safe — were missing.

That’s why I launched AirportOpsMedia. I wanted to create training built by someone who has actually driven the airfield, talked to the tower, responded to emergencies, and navigated the complexities of FAA compliance — and who understands the critical demands of terminal operations, SIDA and AOA security, and Part 1542 regulatory requirements — not just someone behind a camera.

My mission is simple: Help airport teams feel confident, prepared, and safe — every single day.
